Today, Squlendor's broadcast account with Live365 expires, and I, hamstak, have decided not to renew. It's been a fun ride, but the expense of running the station isn't really justified.

Long live Squlendor!

After neglecting Squlendor for many, many a week, I have finally gotten around to adding some songs and updating the playlist on the website. Today's additions include:

All sorts of Slovenian Nationalist goodness with the three Laibach selections. "Give me a light beer, a light beer for the verld!"

I think I added some other tunes several weeks back, but can't for the life of me remember what those might have been.

I posted another collage on the image page; this one is titled Beatnik Mechanization Deployment Testing and is the fourth in the Instructive Control Anomalies series.

The subject matter was more problematic than I had anticipated since the Beat "movement" was predominantly literary, meaning there weren't a lot of visual symbols to draw upon. Therefore, a few items more associated with "hippyism" (marijuana and Marley) included in the piece might seem out of place. But this deficiency is more than made up for, in my opinion, by the presence of the dreaded Kerouacbot.

I added the poem "High School Drag" from the 1958 cinematographic masterpiece "High School Confidential" to the playlist. (I am calling this a masterpiece sight unseen; simply watching Philippa Fallon recite the poem is enough to convince me.) I extracted the audio from this video using vixy.net's online conversion service, which is way slick!

I also changed the homepage to the updates weblog since the original page was pretty blah.

I added a few pages to the site and a few images to the art page over the past several days, which I'm sure is the high point of everybody's day. Especially interesting is the new schwag page where you can view select Squlendor merchandise for purchase at delectable Zazzle. I'll be adding new stuff over the next several weeks, so check back if you are running low on gewgaws and gimcracks.
